Hyenas laugh but don’t seem to find it particularly gratifying. Apparently only humans can laugh, grin, giggle, snigger and guffaw for amusement, even if every serious attempt made so far to provide a good definition of ‘sense of humor’ petered miserably – probably because the vast majority of serious people consider laughter as highly inappropriate to their status and practice it only privately 🙂 .
